Retreat to the Rockies

Retreat to the Rockies is a bi-annual family church camp at the YMCA camp in Estes Park, Colorado. Time during the day is free to spend with family and friends enjoying the beauty of the Rocky Mountains and participating in outdoor activities like sightseeing drives, hiking and horseback riding as well as indoor activities such as crafts and a creative writing workshop. There is also a meaningful corporate worship time in the evening with great music and a guest speaker.

Sermon on the Mound

Sermon on the Mound is an annual fall event that takes place in Weston, Missouri, on the farm of friends of Crossroads Church. The entire Sunday morning worship service is moved to a grassy sloping lawn overlooking a baseball field. Adults and children sit in lawn chairs or on blankets while the band “rocks on” often with a blue grass feel. After the “sermon on the mound” a lunch of hamburgers and hotdogs is cooked and then a rowdy game of baseball is enjoyed by all.

Crossroads Theatre Company

Sound of Music (Summer 2007)

Crossroads Theatre Company is an excellent amateur theatre group presenting an annual musical. The company is comprised for the most part by Crossroads Church members and attendees, with some assistance received from community participation. Crossroads Church is committed to presenting the arts in variety of forms as a means of expression by our many talented people and also to present art as a gift to the larger community.

Holy Ghost Weenie Roast

The Holy Ghost Weenie Roast is an annual fall event held at a farm near Harrisonville, Missouri. Activities include fishing in a lake, games like horseshoes, hayride, and roasting hotdogs and marshmallows over the camp fire.

Spaghetti Dinner and Talent Show

The annual Spaghetti Dinner and Talent Show is a fund raiser for the summer youths’ mission trip. The evening includes good food served by Crossroads youth and a talent show featuring Crossroadians presenting a wide variety of entertainment, sometimes serious and often hilarious.

Fall Festival

This annual event is held in the church parking lot with food and games for all and an opportunity for attendees to sign up to participate in work groups.
