God, what are
you trying to do in the world today? I'm trying to wake people up. You
all need each other. I want you to know how connected you
are. Well, God, that
sounds like a pretty big deal. It's everything, actually! That's
why you need to seek peace and justice-because it's in your own best interest!
It's just being good to yourself-and it's my dream for
you. Speaking of
dreams, God, when I read the Bible, it almost screams out, "Wake up!" "Grow
up!" That's right. The world needs
spiritual grown-ups-people becoming mature in faith. One of my children
described it really well: "We learn how to recognize our own demons. We don't
let them fool us anymore about what's going on. We also learn to trust our own
angels, and allow them to lead, and heal, and guide." (Richard Rohr,
