I am on the road! This e-notes is coming to you from the campus of Mars Hill College just outside Ashville, North Carolina as the second week of my Book Tour begins. If you have been following the tour on Facebook or through the Crossroads Church e-mail, you'll know that the past week included stops in Nashville and Atlanta on the way down the Amelia Island, Florida. There have been many wonderful and challenging conversations about faith, questions, and what it means to be a person of faith today. In Fernandina Beach, Florida, I signed my book for nine people who bought copies. On Sunday morning, at the New Vision Congregational Church, I met with the congregation for almost 90 minutes, then signed about half a dozen books for members who bought them.

            The week hasn't been all work. Some of my family was able to join me in Florida and we stayed with dear friends who are living in Fernandina Beach. There was some time spent at the beach and we even managed to get away for a day at Disney World. That day turn out to be longer than anticipated as we came upon a terrible automobile accident just minutes after it happened about 1:30 in the morning. By the time police were able to left traffic through, we made it back to our friends house exactly 24 hours after we had left.

            The Alliance of Baptists is sponsored a Spirituality Gathering here at Mars Hill College and I was fortunate to be able to participate in one day of the event before having to resume my schedule. Thursday will be spent with friends near Greensboro, NC, and Friday I am meeting a former neighbor whom I haven't seen in some 35 years. We plan to meet at a restaurant near Richmond, Virginia. We reconnected on Facebook last year and he wants to buy my book! Then it's up to Northern Virginia where I will visit with family and friends before speaking about my book to the combined adult Sunday School classes at Vienna Baptist Church, where I served on the pastoral staff for 19 years before moving to Kansas City. After the worship service, there will be a book sale and signing opportunity there. Then, it's a long drive back to Kansas City. Thanks for sharing this travel time with me and thanks for continuing to bless me as we journey together.
