In last week's e-notes, I invited you to share some of
the pieces of wisdom that have helped shape your life. Several of you wrote
back. Here is some of the wisdom you shared:
·
"I'm always reminded of what my
grandmother used to say: "The Lord himself couldn't please everybody, so why do
you think you can?"
·
"I have learned there is a huge
difference in what my wants and needs are."
·
"In life, things don't always happen
for a reason, but we can find reason in all that happens. I can't believe that
tragedies, and even some good stuff, are pre-ordained. It happens; sometimes it
stinks. Sometimes "stink" is too gentle of a word. But not to grow from tragedy
makes it a double tragedy. We can learn to see the world from a new perspective.
No, life can never be the same. But sometimes, you wouldn't want it to
anyway."
Thanks for these and I hope the rest
of you are inspired to share some of your wisdom!
Last week, I shared some wisdom that
has help shape my and life and illuminate my journey. In a recent conversation,
I came across another piece of such wisdom. In my experience, there are times
we become so self-centered in
pursuit of our life goals and direction that we actually lose track of who we
are and where we're going! Those are times when it helps to become more
centered in self, more grounded
and in touch with the deep wisdom that is inside each of us. When we are
centered in ourselves, we are free to see others for who they are rather than
what we need them to be. We are free to be who we are rather than what we think
others expect us to be. In this freedom, there is deep wisdom and a deep sense
of the Spirit for our lives.
Thanks for continuing to bless me as
we journey together.
